Work Experience: (Back)
1999 to current:

Bluegum Business Services Pty Ltd.

1999:
Assisted in the relocation of Southport Engineering from an older site in Dandenong to a new 'purpose built' building on Sth. Gippsland Hwy. Hampton Park. This project entailed the total supply and installation of twin Microsoft NT servers, new desktop PC units, building cabling, and optic fibre links to a series of laser and plasma water jet cutting machines, controlled by CNC programmable controllers. The emphasis on this project was to provide a mirrored IT system which was required to remain 'live' during the migration of the administrative staff and bringing the process equipment 'on-line', there by minimising effective down time.

2000 - 2001:
Commissioned by sia Abrasives Industries CH (Switzerland) to create and implement a business strategy for their failing UK branch. This entailed a total work over of their entire manufacturing, warehousing, receiving and dispatch sectors and a review of administrative and general work practices.

2001 - 2003:
Commissioned by sia Fibral Ltd, the Halifax (UK) subsidiary of sia Abrasives Switzerland to formulate a design for the reconstruction of their plant at Greetland. Much of the site has been demolished and new buildings are being erected from my designs. New offices have been constructed, cabled and furnished maintaining productive administrative proximities where provision allowed.

This project entails a total relocation of the sia Abrasives (GB) facility to Halifax, which is approximately 350 miles distant, and involves substantial heavy manufacturing equipment, stock, racking and all associated administrative facilities including the IT system.

2004 - 2007:
Commissioned by Powers Fasteners - Australasia to design and construct a 4000sq/m corporate head office in Dandenong Victoria. Ultimately this project involved the purchased of a new, but existing, building and effecting the required modifications to the building to accommodate the client. Heavy construction was required to fabricate a 400 sq/m mezzanine floor over existing offices and a large 1200sq/m covered awning at the rear of the building for loading / unloading of goods in inclement weather.

Powers Fasteners were relocated into the new facility in October 2004. Powers Fasteners have continued to employ Bluegum Business Services on a contractual basis for many large projects since this time.

  • 2005. Lease and fit out small warehouse in Cairns, QLD.
  • 2005. Lease, fit out and relocate company to large 1200sq/m warehouse in Archerfield, Brisbane.
  • 2006. Design and construct new building for Powers Fasteners NSW distribution and sales centre. 1500 sq/m building designed by Bluegum was build in Narrellan and the company was relocated into the new facilty along with new racking, office equipment and training areas.
  • 2007. Relocate company to larger premises in Adelaide, South Australia.
  • 2007 - 2009. Various projects as required by Powers Fasteners. These included machinery design and development, hazchen and equipment handling, and property and building maintenance.

During this period I established my own Company and began contracting my services to companies, organisations and individuals with specific requirements for:

In 1994 I was contracted by sia Abrasives Australia Pty Ltd: the Australian subsidiary of Swiss based sia Abrasives; to be the project design and construction co-ordinator for their new Australian head quarters now located in Rowville. At the completion of the project, sia Abrasives retained my services to plan and co-ordinate the entire relocation of the company to their new premises. This entailed the complete design and instrumentation of their conversion plant, administrative departments and all associated processes.

sia Abrasives Australia continue to retain my services and during the period from June 1997 to November 1998 I was instrumental in obtaining ISO9002 accreditation and for the replacement and upgrading of the entire sia Abrasives Australia IT system; both software and hardware; to ensure Year 2000 compliance.

sia Abrasives Australia again chose to avail themselves of my services to facilitate the introduction of major manufacturing equipment to their production facilities during the Summer or 1999 - 2000. During this period, the entire manufacturing process facility was re-designed and changes implemented.
